February 7: Resilience

February 7: Resilience

Today we were lucky enough (once again) to ski at Crested Butte with a group Gunnison Middle School 6th graders who are Choice Pass holders.  We are beyond grateful to have another afternoon (and opportunity) of skiing and connecting with Choice Pass kids! Once the lifts shut down and 6th graders were on the school bus ride back home to Gunnison, it was time for us to ski uphill, push ourselves further & keep the energy for the Grand Traverse & Choice Pass moving along.

Through this ski, our car ride home (along with scooping up John’s nephew & niece along the way for a family slumber party) we learned from these two resilient kids (who recently lost their father, local hero, Abe Fischer) that being open, honest and vulnerable is what allows us to be truly healthy and make good choices...even through times of grief.  The laughter, tears and dose of “Xanadu” from the band Rush on the car speakers connected us and set us all up for the weekend ahead.

MATT AND JOHN ARE SKIING THE GRAND TRAVERSE TO HELP RAISE FUNDS FOR CHOICE PASS. DONATE TODAY TO HELP US REACH OUR GOAL OF $7,500 BY RACE DAY 3/29/2020!
