Welcome Letter to Students

Thank you for considering the Choice Pass for your well-being!  We want you to sign-up – even if you don’t actually get a ski pass or membership.  Why?  It’s more about a commitment to yourself, building confidence in your decisions, and experiencing a feeling of success.

Think about who you look up to. Ask yourself, who are these people?  What makes them special?  The most successful people in life do what they say they will do.  What do you want to do?  What special qualities do you want to bring out in yourself?

The Choice Pass is a chance for you to make a commitment that could enhance your best qualities and have a positive influence on the rest of your life.  Yes, the Choice Pass gives you excellent deals on passes at Crested Butte Mountain Resort, Gunnison Community Center, and businesses valley-wide.  But it also gives you an opportunity to prove to yourself that you are capable of sticking to your word and choosing an even healthier lifestyle.  It’s a chance to build confidence in your decisions and make healthy choices all year long.

You’ll find support in the Choice Pass community through organized activities offered throughout the year.  Your entire community is behind you as a Choice Pass holder.  All you have to do is make the commitment to yourself and you will experience an additional feeling of success.

You’ll work with your parent/parents to complete the Choice Pass Pledge, a commitment to remain alcohol and drug free throughout the school year.  It is important for you to talk about your commitment and feel supported.  Think of it this way, you are making a Pledge to yourself and to those who care for you. 

What if you break your Pledge?  You will have your Choice Pass taken away.  However, we’ll give you a chance to earn it back after addressing the conditions you outline in your Pledge.  Remember, we want you to be successful!

Ready to commit? Here’s what you need to do.  You and your parent or guardian must attend the Choice Pass Sign-Up night and complete the online requirements. The button below will conect you to our county website where you can follow these next steps:

 1.Enter your information and complete surveys as required.
 2. Complete your Pledge and liability waiver.
 3. Agree to random drug testing throughout the year.

 4. Make a choice and commit to it.  It’s empowering.  It’s the feeling of success.  It’s your CHOICE!
